Health Concerns
Asthma, Colitis, Arthritis, Psoriasis, and Heart Disease (Chronic
Inflammatory Diseases): They are all due to a dysfunction of
the immune system, which damages these otherwise healthy organs.
Inadequate nutrition, caused by malabsorption, bacterial overgrowth,
pancreatic insufficiency, etc., plays an important role in these
conditions, but is rarely checked by the specialists.
Chronic Fatigue and Epstein Barr: The cause of these, and
related syndromes, is not clear. However there are several lifestyle
and supplement approaches you can take to help shorten the duration
of any occurrence, and prevent a relapse.
Cancer: Oncologists have made great
progress in killing cancer cells. Unfortunately, their treatments
are very harsh on our normal cells, causing many side effects.
Gastrointestinal (GI) and Digestive Problems, including IBS: The use of fiberoptic “endoscopes” to look into the upper and lower GI tract has advanced the early detection and treatment of cancer in these areas with great success. Endoscopies have provided little to no help in the evaluation and treatment of irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease ( ileitis and colitis). This is because these conditions are caused by biochemical and physiologic dysfunctions that cannot be seen by the naked eye. Traditional treatment is with anti-immune and anti-inflammatory drugs, but it often leaves out nutrition and supplementation, which play an important part in treatment and healing.
Malabsorption is probably the most important word in GI and
general health. Even if we eat well and take supplements – there is
no guarantee that we will absorb the adequate amounts of our
individual and special needs. This is especially true of us “older
folk” who are aging in the gut. Heart and kidney failure are well
recognized, but diminished digestion and absorption are rarely
evaluated, and yet this is a major course of disease in the elderly.
Heart Disease: No, Cholesterol is not the whole story!
INFLAMMATION, abnormal or excessive, attacks and damages the
delicate inner lining of our arteries, resulting in scarring,
thickening , and blood clots. Cholesterol is used by the body in an
attempt to cover over and heal these damaged areas. Many nutrients
have been shown to be beneficial in minimizing cardiovascular
disease. They must – like all treatments, be used in the appropriate
doses, along with other life style factors. Heart disease has been
scientifically proven to be reversible!
Nutritional Concerns that can be addressed by Diet and
Supplements:
Women’s Health: Are you post pregnancy,
pregnant or trying to get pregnant, going through menopause, have
pms issues or urinary tract infections? While traditional medicine
can give you some medications, proper nutrition and supplementation
is important to treat and abate many symptoms and issues that can be
associated with your health. Inadequate vitamin levels and poor acid
balance in your system can lead to heart disease, bone loss,
depression, and poor absorption and digestion. |
